The car wash has seemingly gone downhill. I dont know what it is but its so inconsistent. One day it might clean the car fine but most days its almost like they crank up the speed on the tracks and it cleans terribly. The back of a car should never be not cleaned like the attached photo to this review and yet many times, thats what I drive away with. Its not like there is anything in this area to prevent it from being cleaner. You can see where it was clearly just not touched leaving the dirt behind.
I think they used to know it did this and someone would scrub the back of every car with a broom thing before going in. They dont seem to do that anymore even when not busy. This was the result after their "triple wash"
I got my van washed today and the men working were stellar! Our van was long overdue for a car wash and upon paying the man helping at the machines gave me a heads up that they would try to get as much of the build up off of the van as they could but there was a good chance it wouldn’t all come off. Nonetheless when I pulled in the men that did the first clean easily worked on the car for at least ten minutes really trying to do their best to get it clean. Overall we had a fantastic experience. They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and also that my van was clean! For a $22 wash I thought they really cared about the customer and my vehicle! Will definitely be back to this location and also will highly recommend to friends and family!
I went here for an oil change and a car wash. All the guys were excellent, super friendly and kind. The man that was doing the car wash drew a picture in the soap on my daughter’s window and it made her entire day. I highly recommend this establishment.
I purchased a single car wash, for my new car that just got gum all over the front… I usually do touch less car washes, because I’m afraid of poor quality washes leaving scratches, but I figured with how busy this place always is, they must be good. I was wrong. My car is still dirty, still covered in gum, and now has so many scratches that Were not there before… very disappointed and now I have to get my paint fixed.
I couldn’t recognize my husband’s car after he brought it in for detailing some months ago. They did an incredible job. The car was an old car he wanted to sell after he had it fixed. They did a thorough job cleaning it from the inside and out. The only thing was the strong smell of the cleaning materials which lingered for a while. I guess that’s inevitable. I highly recommend their services. Good job guys.
The free vacuums are nice. The auto wash even with the upgraded wash didn't clean my truck very well. They don't hand brush at all before it goes through and the dryers at the end sound like they are working but they didn't dry it very well. Nobody hand drying. If I paid $10 for this wash I couldn't complain. But it was $24. It doesn't seem worth it when the truck still comes out dirty.
This was always my go to place to wash and vacuum my car. This morning on my way to work, I stopped to quick vacuum my car and found the entire area to be filthy, trash everywhere, spills not wiped up, 3 of the vacuums coned off. it took me 3 vacuums to get one that work. This place has gone downhill. Time to find somewhere new.
Earlier this week I went to Triple Play for an oil change. I arrived in afternoon and waited in line for a bit. A shift change seemed to be happening, as well as printer problems.
The upstairs oil tech waved me in, confirmed I wanted an oil change, then started work. He inflated my tires and added windshield fluid. The downstairs techs also began. However there was a hangup because the customer service person (a shift manager) was stretched thin. So we waited. The upstairs tech stood behind my open hood and looked at his phone. This is unprofessional even in 2023. Especially since at a different oil change place with Valvoline in the name, I have usually received courtesy checks such as, air filter check, lights and indicators check, transmission fluid check, windshield wiper check. None of that here.
Fine, he's tired, it's hot... As long as he fills the oil correctly.
He did not fill the oil correctly. He had trouble with the oil gun, filled a jug, then proceeded to overfill my oil pan. He showed me the dipstick "there's your new oil," and pretended it wasn't significantly past the mark. Maybe he thought I wouldn't know better. Some months previously a AAA technician had warned me about topping off with the engine hot, because overfilling could result and bad things could happen. Google it - bad for an engine, especially a very old one like mine.
So here we were, and I would give quite a bit to have another opportunity to say "Excuse me, that looks overfilled, can you drain a bit until it's closer to the line?" But I didn't say that. I drove out and cursed myself and cursed Triple Play and daydreamed in futility about owning an electric car.
I don't like the fact that I paid a pretty good amount of money just to take on new anxieties about my jalopy. I change the oil on schedule to try to make it last longer. Am I asking too much for the business that only does oil changes not to overfill my oil? I would avoid Triple Play and go to the Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Warren, where the discipline is tight and the work is high quality.
Epilogue:
I returned to Triple Play after speaking with Matt, the manager. He personally re-changed my oil and filled a hair shy of the line to alleviate my concerns. He checked all the other essential fluids and showed me the air filter. The service was very fast and there was a healthy amount of communication between technicians during the process. The difference between this and my previous visit speaks to the difficulty of getting buy-in on things that seem small or tedious, but are important when performing coordinated technical tasks. Also the struggle of managing a fairly complex operation with young employees, a few of whom may be inexperienced or just not super stoked about their duties and line of work. Maybe I'm projecting, but I had these struggles myself managing a mechanic crew for rideshare e-bikes.
Anyhow, I really appreciate Matt's effort to make things right. Not every oil change is going to go perfect, but he's setting a high standard, and imagine it's working its way through the organization and making experiences like mine the exception and not the rule.
